Steve C. York

Steven C. York, 49, of Ocala, Florida and former Liberty resident, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Ocala, Florida. Steve was born on July 3rd 1963, in San Diego, California to Robert R. and Pauleta Jean Fields York. He attended Union County schools. Steve had a special love of music that led him to write songs at an early age. For many years, he played music in the local and surrounding areas. Steve had worked as a hi-lo driver as well as having been employed in foundry work. Steve is survived by his two daughters: Samantha Huff of Connersville and Veronica Eckert of Liberty; three grandchildren: Payton of Connersville; Kayla and Kameron of Liberty; his parents: Robert and Pauleta Fields York of Ocala, FL; brother: Ron York and his wife, Emily of Nashville TN; sister: Debra Casey and her husband, Don of Ocala FL; three nieces: Nicole LaFever and her husband, Benji, Ashley York, all of Nashville, TN; Danielle Putek of Jacksonville, FL.; two grandnieces: Stori York and Alyeah LaFever; two uncles: George “Junior” York of Ft. Myers, FL and Charles “Bill” York of Connersville. Steve is preceded in death by his grandparents: George and Flossie Waddell York; Glen and Ruth Fields; and an aunt: Melba Fields Fox. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty. Interment will follow in Dunlapsville Cemetery in Union County.
