Steven J.J. "Bub" Fowler

Steven J.J. “Bub” Fowler, 24, of Connersville, died as a result of a heart attack Friday, August 26, 2016, at Reid Hospital in Richmond . Steven was born February 12, 1992 in Connersville to Steven and Angela Cornett Fowler. He attended Connersville area schools and attended high school in Jackson County, Kentucky where he played football. Steven liked working out, fishing, hunting and shooting pool. He enjoyed spending time with his family and infant son and nephews. He could often be found exercising, working on cars or riding skateboards, motorcycles or quads. Steven was employed as a mechanic at Fraley and Schilling Trucking in Rushville. Steven is survived by his son: Abel Johnathan James Fowler; his companion and mother of his child: Kendra Anne Nickel; his Father: Steven Fowler and his fiancé, Abby Day of Dunlapsville; his Mother: Angela R. Fowler and her companion, John Newhouse of Connersville; his sisters: Amanda Holliman and her husband, Mark; Brittany Brown, all of Connersville; paternal grandmother: Jeanette Fowler of McKee, Kentucky; maternal grandmother: Donna J. Parrett of Connersville; two nephews: Dalton Paul Harlan and Mason Allen Brown, both of Everton; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Steven is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Johnny Fowler; his maternal grandfathers: Alvin Cornett and Donald G. Parrett; his paternal great-grandparents: Earl and Zada Croucher, Ruford and Annie Fowler; maternal great-grandparents: James W. and Mary E. Sherwood, Theo and Dorothy Cornett; and his cousin: Kristin “Kri” Weesner. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Connersville, with Pastor Jeff Hensley of the Full Gospel Holiness Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Garden of Memories. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday where memorial contributions may be made to his son, Abel’s future.
