Sylvia Ann Black

Sylvia Ann Hamilton Black, 71, of College Corner, died at her residence on Monday, September 25, 2017. Sylvia was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on June 14, 1946, to William C. and Mary L. Martin Hamilton. On February 24, 1963, Sylvia married Dwight Cleveland Black in College Corner. During Her life she worked as a nurse’s aide and as an attendant at R&J Laundry in Oxford. Sylvia was a Red Cross Volunteer and a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader for over twenty years. Sylvia loved biking in her earlier years and playing Bingo. She was a member of the College Corner United Methodist Church. Sylvia is survived by a son: Frederick Black of College Corner; a daughter: Christine Black of College Corner; a brother: Paul Hamilton of Cincinnati; a niece: Kim Fuller; and two nephews: David Fuller and Albert Fuller Jr. In addition to her husband, Dwight, who died on November 9, 2009, Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Mary Fuller and other sisters. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Showalter Blackwell Tilton Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, in College Corner, Ohio, with Rev. Mick Miller officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Donor’s Choice of Charity.
