Tom Stevens Bultman, formally from Liberty, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 20th following a short illness. Tom was born on February 14, 1942 to Charles L. and Maribelle W. Bultman. He was the drummer in a Dixie Land Band called the Four Sharps and a Flat that won a five state competition in 1960. He graduated from Short High School in Liberty in 1960 and from Indiana University in 1967.
Tom was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in 1968 and left the Air Force in 1974 achieving the rank of Captain. He served in Korea and received the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service.
He was employed by the Social Security Administration in Chicago, IL from 1975 until his retirement in 1997. His retirement years were spent collecting stamps and he loved working all types of puzzles. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his brother, William C. Bultman (Marjorie) and his two nephews, W. Michael Bultman (Sue) and Mark C. Bultman (Carla). He is also survived by a great-niece, Celeste and three great-nephews, Benjamin, William and Connor.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home in Liberty. Following visitation, there will be a Masonic graveside service conducted by Masonic Lodge #58 at West Point Cemetery in Liberty.
