Virginia Romalee Alcorn, 93, of Richmond, died on Friday, November 14, 2014, at Rosebud Village in Richmond.
Romalee was born in Modoc in Randolph County on Saturday, September 3, 1921, to Ozro and Letha Hodson Rubush and attended school in Randolph County. Romalee was a homemaker as she raised her family and then she had been employed at Cregar’s 5 & 10 store and Driggs Shoe Store, both in Liberty. She had lived most of her life in Liberty. Romalee enjoyed her church and was a long time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Richmond. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, her family and her grandchildren.
Romalee is survived by a son: Herbert Alcorn and his wife Shelly of Richmond; a daughter-in-law: Sue Alcorn of Liberty; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Romalee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman in May of 1981; four sons: Herman Jr., Kenneth, James, and Larry Alcorn; a daughter Phyllis Jean; six brothers: Gail, Gene, George, William, Richard, and Donnie Rubush; and four sisters: Crystal Brown, Mavis Beachler, Wanda Dodd, and Margurette Belcher.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19th at West point Cemetery in Liberty with Rev. Marty Holman of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiating.
