Virginia J. Silvers

Connersville native, Virginia J. Silvers, 68, died Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Reid Health in Richmond. Virginia was born on December 30, 1952 to Mary Alice Godsey and James Hunter. She attended Connersville High School graduating in 1971. Virginia married Darryl Silvers on October 6, 1972. She was employed with J & J Packaging, Cox Supermarket, and Yaryan Gym. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, going to Pizza Hut with her very best friend, Shirley Combs, and tending to her beloved cows on the family farm. Virginia was strong in her faith and adored spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed. Virginia is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Darryl; children: Darryl (DJ) Silvers and his wife Tammy, Mari Proffitt, Jeremy Silvers and his significant other Joni Peters; grandchildren: Kristina Cantrell and her husband Ethan, Drew Precht, Brandon Silvers, Jordan Silvers and his significant other Brittany Henry, Jackson Proffitt, Jayden Proffitt, Elli Silvers; great-grandchildren: Grady Henry, Baby Silvers due in April; siblings and their spouses: Deborah and Jerald Glass, Carol and Ernie Parvis, Jayma and Lawrence Smith, Steve and Gene Godsey; step-mother: Zana Hunter; aunt: Nevada Fenters; nieces and nephews: Jake and Carrie Glass, Christy and Dustin Pflum, Jimmy Glass, Glenna and Chris Richardson, Jeff Parvis, Allyson Parvis, Blake Smith; dear friend: Shirley Combs. In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her step-dad: Ben Godsey; son: Wayne Silvers; in-laws: Donald and Elizabeth Silvers. A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Merle Seeley presiding. Friends may visit the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
