Wanda Faye Bloom

Lifelong Connersville resident, Wanda Faye Bloom, 74, died Wednesday, April 22, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Wanda was born to Charles and Mable Ward Deboard on June 1, 1945 in Rushville. She was employed at the Ford plant and later Roots Blower Company in Connersville. On August 11, 1962 Wanda married Orville Bloom in Rushville. She enjoyed cooking meals for her family; her specialty was beans and cornbread with fried potatoes, and peanut butter fudge. Wanda truly loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play from “her” seat at the top of the Spartan Bowl. In addition to Orville, Wanda is survived by her sons and their spouses: Kenneth and Marna Bloom, Dale and Lisa Bloom, and Jerome and Cathie Bloom, all of Connersville; her daughters and their spouses: Shelly Bloom of Connersville, Kim and Ron Smith of Richmond, Kassindra and Ryan Young of Connersville; her siblings: Leonard Deboard, Dave Deboard, Kathy Keen, Robert Ward, Johnny Harping, Rex Harping, Rick Kessler, Billy Kessler, Teresa Burnside, and Montina Basham; Twenty-nine Grandchildren; Forty-seven Great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mable Ward Deboard; her brothers: Charles Deboard, Roger Deboard, and Allen Ward; Four Great-Grandchildren. A graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2020, at Dale Cemetery. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, has been entrusted with services. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
