William S. Harris, 68, of Connersville died Tuesday night, April 5, 2016 at his residence, which was his family’s original Indiana Homestead.
A Connersville native, William was born November 29, 1947 to Lewis Jr. and Beatrice Stamper Harris and attended Columbia and Connersville area schools. For over twenty years, William was employed at H.H. Robertson and most recently, he owned and operated Smith’s Fencing. In his leisure time, William greatly enjoyed mushroom hunting, deer hunting and spending time in his cabin in the woods. He also had a passion for raising, riding and breaking horses. William most valued his family and friends.
William is survived by his life partner of over twenty five years, Pam Harris; his children: Kevin Harris; Tina King and her husband, Tim; his siblings: Kaye Harris; Brenda Maxie and her husband, Paul; Donnie Harris, all of Connersville; his grandchildren: Logan Steve Harris; Jimmy, Victoria, Gracie King; Jeramiha Harris; Arie and Jaylin Hampton; Trinity Harris; nieces and special nephews: Donnie Harris, Jr. and Craig Harris, who he thought of as his children.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his father: Lewis Harris, Jr.; his mother: Beatrice Rose; his step- father: Herbert Rose, Sr.; his brothers: Raymond and Hargis Harris; step-brother: Herbie Rose, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Chris Lovett of the Crosspointe Biker Church officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel North Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Sunday, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Society.
